In the spirit of the holiday season and in supporting a national day of giving, Gettysburg Hospital Foundation and WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital will host Lights of Love at the hospital at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The community is invited to attend a tree lighting ceremony that will celebrate donations made to this year’s appeal beneficiary – Gettysburg Hospital Foundation’s Children’s Health Fund.
The Children’s Health Fund is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of uninsured and underprivileged children in Adams County and northern Maryland through free health services and screenings, education programs, and community partnership.
“Uninsured and underprivileged children especially need our assistance to ensure their health and well-being. By supporting the Children’s Health Fund, people can make Adams County and northern Maryland a safer and healthier place for our young community members to live, play, and grow in,” said Daniel Bringman, chair, Gettysburg Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
The Lights of Love tree lighting event will take place outside WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital’s main entrance, located at 147 Gettys Street. The event will be highlighted by music performed by Gettysburg Community Theatre from its upcoming performances of A Christmas Carol.
Jane Hyde, president of WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, and Eve Gardner, director, WellSpan Healthy York Network, will make brief remarks. Following the ceremony there will be a reception in the hospital lobby.
