WellSpan to host midlife health talk series in Gettysburg

WellSpan Health will host several free community health talks throughout April in Gettysburg highlighting the importance of midlife health for women. 

WellSpan Midlife Health & Wellness offers resources to help meet the complex needs of women who are approaching or are experiencing menopause, as well as those women who are post-menopausal.  

The practice, located within the WellSpan Adams Health Center at 40 V-Twin Drive in Gettysburg, provides services for women that are experiencing menopausal or perimenopausal changes. Consultations and treatments are offered that include both the use of traditional hormonal therapies as well as natural alternatives.

The following WellSpan Health Talks are planned on midlife health topics in April:

“Top 10 Myths of Midlife: Let’s Talk About Sex – The Facts Behind the Fiction”

Wednesday, April 3, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Speakers: Melanie Ochalski, M.D., WellSpan Midlife Health & Wellness, and Kelsey Steele, Psy.D., WellSpan Psychology Intern Program

Location: WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, Community Room A, 147 Gettys St., Gettysburg

 

“Acupuncture – The Healing Flow of Energy – Understanding the Heart of the Woman”

Wednesday, April 10, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Speakers: Guinevere Crescenzi, acupuncturist, WellSpan Center for Mind/Body Health and Richard Howard, Jr., M.D., WellSpan Cardiology

Location: WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital Community Room A, 147 Gettys St., Gettysburg

 

“Osteoporosis: The Silent Disease – What’s On Your Plate? Healthy Eating for Women”

Wednesday, April 17, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Speakers: Jan Howells, clinical supervisor, WellSpan Outpatient Physical Therapy, and Beth Conway, clinical dietitian, WellSpan Nutrition Services

Location: WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, Community Room B and C, 147 Gettys St., Gettysburg
