WellSpan York Cancer Center leaders recently accepted a donation of $23,000 from Pink Power founder Denise DelGrosso Gilliland. The gift helps WellSpan cover medical expenses for York County breast cancer patients through the Pink Power Fund that was established in 2018.
“Our goal is to help as many as we can in their fight against breast cancer,” said Gilliland. “Financial hardship should never get in the way of receiving the care you need.”
Gilliland was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. She has turned that experience into an opportunity to help others. The money was raised at the third annual Pink Power Girls Night Out fundraiser in October.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to help others with this fund,” she said.
Patients who qualify under the WellSpan Financial Assistance Policy are eligible to use the funds to cover out-of-pocket expenses for diagnostic screenings and treatments. For more information, visit www.WellSpan.org/FinancialAssistance
