Mobile app service available for low-risk pregnancies at three York County practices
WellSpan Health is now offering remote prenatal check-ups to expectant mothers with low-risk pregnancies at three WellSpan OB/GYN practices in York County.
The new program equips patients with a mobile app and wireless blood pressure cuff, allowing expectant mothers to securely send blood pressure readings and other medical information, such as weight, to their WellSpan OB/GYN care provider.
Patients at WellSpan OB/GYN on Market Street in York, WellSpan OB/GYN on Queen Street in York and WellSpan OB/GYN on Wolfe Road in New Freedom now have access to remote prenatal monitoring. The health system plans to expand the service to patients at other WellSpan OB/GYN practices in the region in the coming months.
“We know a lot of expectant moms are on the go, and finding time for the recommended 14 prenatal checkups can be challenge,” said Megan Lecas, vice president of women and children services at WellSpan Health. “We are proud to offer this service to our patients with low-risk pregnancies, allowing soon-to-be moms and their health care providers to track their progress in a safe and convenient way that can also decrease the number of office visits needed.”
Remote prenatal check-ups are the newest offering through the Babyscripts™ app.
Last month, WellSpan announced that the app is available to pregnant patients in WellSpan OB/GYN practices across the region to help expectant mothers more easily follow their care plan and access customizable resources and educational content during their pregnancy, including access their prenatal health care professional’s care plan though simple, weekly tasks and tracking.
