New name, graphic identity unveiled

WellSpan Ephrata Community HospitalConsider it the perfect marriage – each bringing important strengths to the relationship.

That’s what has been accomplished so far through the affiliation of Ephrata Community Hospital and WellSpan Health.

Ephrata Community Hospital gains strength through a larger organization that offers, among many things, the largest physician network in south central Pennsylvania.

And WellSpan gains a respected institution that is a proven health-care leader in northern and eastern Lancaster County.

Now that relationship bears an identity that reflects a unified organization that works as one with its communities.

This month, work begins to align the WellSpan brand with the Ephrata Community Hospital brand, with the hospital becoming WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

This new system identity will roll out in various ways across the outpatient centers, physician practices, home health program and other services in Lancaster County. New logos will appear on signs, brochures, name badges, websites and other materials.

“While many of us have an emotional connection to our old identity, the truth is that our real connection is with the people, history and traditions of Ephrata Community Hospital,” said John Porter, senior vice president, WellSpan Health, and president of WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

“We wanted to keep that connection to our past, while at the same time embracing our future,” he continued. “That’s what we’ve done with this new brand alignment. We’ve brought past, present and future together – just as we’ve brought the strengths of our two organizations together.”

Over the next six months, the introduction of this new brand and identity will occur in many ways, such as a multimedia advertising campaign, which will include newspaper and radio advertising; posters in various sites of care; community events and other activities.

Through these various initiatives, the health system will communicate how the people of WellSpan partner with patients and communities as well as its expertise in primary and specialty care and innovations in the journey toward better health.

“While WellSpan is very well known throughout York and Adams counties, most people in Lancaster County know very little about our health system,” Porter said. “These messages will help tell the story of who we are, as WellSpan, and the patient-centered approach we take to health care.”

He added: “Whether you’re an existing WellSpan patient in Lancaster County or you’re new to us, this campaign will reinforce the message that Ephrata Community Hospital and WellSpan are stronger together and that we will deliver exceptional value and patient care throughout our community.”
